If you follow Route 53 from Charlottesville, you will pass Mitchie Tavern, Monticello, and Jefferson Vineyards as you continue a 20 minute drive through the beautiful countryside of Albemarle and Fluvanna County that will lead you to Inn 1831. Inn 1831 was built by Richard McCary. Richard was a successful mason and built the Old Palmyra Stone Jail, the Carysbrook Plantation, and the Palmer Country Manor that is now Inn 1831.

You enter into a large foyer with the parlor to the left and living room to the right (currently being used as an office). You will notice the original heart pine floors. There are wood baseboards, colonial trim around doors and openings, partial crown molding and chair rail treatments throughout.
